Ehet Dawut was born in 1969 in the township of Kucha, Xinjiang. He started working since 1986 and studied music at the Aksu Teachers’ College and literature at Xinjiang University. From 1986 to 1992, he worked as a teacher at Hangtam middle schools in Kucha. From 1992 to 2002 he transferred to 5. Middle school. In 2002, he assumed a position in the Kucha County Administration Office and later in the propaganda department of the Kucha County Party Committee. Ahet Dawut’s artistic interests and pursuits commenced in 1989, and he has since published a range of literary works in various newspapers and magazines, including poems, essays, and stories, among others.
In 2004, Ahet Dawut’s book, “Kucha Folk Poets,” was published by the People’s Publishing House, reflecting his commitment to documenting the cultural heritage of the Uyghur people in China.
Ehet Dawut got arrested in 2018, got sentenced in 2019.
