Telet Qadiri (太来提·卡德尔), an esteemed poet, pedagogy scholar, and public intellectual from the Uyghur community, was taken into custody in the year 2018 and has since vanished without a trace. The lack of information regarding his imprisonment term, location, health, and place of detention is a matter of great concern.

Telet Qadiri was born in November 1961 in Atush city and graduated from the Uyghur Literature Department at Xinjiang University in 1984. He commenced his professional career as a teacher at Kizilsu prefectural Pedagogic schools and later joined the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Education Committee Education Research Office as a scholar and researcher of education in 1996.

He authored several poetry collections, including “Poet on Duel” (1998) and “Injured Bird” (2000), and contributed scholarly papers to “Xinjiang Education.” He also authored “Thoughts on Education”, “The education we seek“.
